Carbon8 Aggregates, the UK’s most innovative and largest thermal residue recycling business, has appointed Lee Thompson as HSEQ Manager. Lee has joined Carbon8 charged with the provision of a professional Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality service across the Carbon8 business. Acting as the appointed person under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, Lee will provide expert advice and information as well as developing and promoting the existing positive compliance culture.
Lee, who holds the NEBOSH General Certificate and is studying for his Diploma at Hull University, moves from his previous role as Regional Health & Safety Facilitator at British Steel, where he has progressed through a number of increasingly responsible health & safety roles since 2012.
Lee says “I’m delighted to join a company with a strong reputation for innovation and compliance. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to build on that foundation and to contribute to the development of the business. I firmly believe Carbon8 is uniquely positioned to help energy facilities and allied businesses achieve sustainable management of their residues.”
Carbon8 managing director Steve Greig comments “We welcome Lee at an exciting time, as our business is continuing to expand with the award of new contracts, technical innovation and the development of strategic partnerships. We are confident Lee will help us to achieve our goals and look forward to a bright future with him as part of our leadership team.”
Lee has embarked on a rigorous induction to familiarise him with the Carbon8 sites and systems. His practical experience in industrial environments with British Steel will be of significant benefit in his new role.
